Dr. Liwei Liu is an Assistant Researcher and Curator of the Agricultural Hall at the National Science and Technology Museum, Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), in 2021. The title of his dissertation is “Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)-Based Crop Growth Environment Monitoring System Development: A Demonstration of Development and Integration on Rice Growth Rate Modeling, Rice Blast Occurrence Forecasting, and Field Capacity Simulation.” His research focuses on AIoT-based crop growth monitoring systems and integrates water resources management, hydrology, precision agriculture, remote sensing, water-saving irrigation, and sustainable rice production. He was funded by the Taiwanese government as a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University for smart rice production research. One of his research achievements was featured by the U.S. National Science Foundation (link), and the related paper can be found here.
